A little gem!

We dined at this beautiful Hotel and restaurant in June. Lovely, friendly owners. We had a three course meal and every course was delicious. Beautiful views from the restaurant and the seats and tables outside. Highly recommend booking in advance.

A beautiful charming hotel/restaurant we were treated as if we were the only diners and the food was amazing everyone of our party of 7 adults 1 child agreed the food was delicious and very good prices. A great dining experience that added to a great holiday.

A memorable 1st Birthday celebration

A last minute getaway which will hold special memories forever. Broadstairs is a great seaside spot and the Bay Tree a perfect location. Comfortable and welcoming, we couldn’t have asked for more! A fantastic little bar with local tipples helped us celebrate in the comfort of the hotel. Tastefully decorated throughout and a lovely comfortable room. Fluffy towels and yummy food, we were able to enjoy ourselves as well as entertain the little one on the beach literally a stones throw away. We got lucky with the weather too, so a short stroll to Viking Bay and Ramsgate was a real treat. When we come back to Broadstairs we will definitely be sure to stay at the Bay Tree. Hopefully James will be coming back too in years to come x

It just got better!

This hotel is just perfect, all the rooms are beautifully decorated since the refurbishment, we tried the dinner menu and the food was delicious. We also tried the afternoon tea, great value for money. Alistair and Robert are excellent hosts, very welcoming and Ben is a sweetie! We are looking forward to returning in July. Well done chaps!

Amazing

Booked at the last minute... so pleased we did. This Hotel is stunning. Spotless Quirky and so Welcoming. Had a sea view room which was very classy and cosy. Stunning wet room. The hotel has recently been renovated by its current owners and they have done it superbly. Attention to detail is second to none. It just oozes class. The position is great for both the beach and town . The breakfast was great. The owners were so friendly and made us so welcome. Can't wait to return.

We do love to be beside the Seaside :-)

We decided to take advantage of the great weather and explore Broadstairs for the first time. This gorgeous Boutique Hotel was a real gem, a lovely warm welcome from the Proprietors and the lovely Ben their dog. Our top floor room (Room 10) was perfect and included the epitome of what a Picture window is with a fantastic view over Stone Bay, the hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment and the style and attention to detail are beautiful, from the quirky Mid century guest lounge to a beautifully appointed Dining room. We spent our first day exploring the gorgeous coast line from Broadstairs to Botany Bay, with a late supper at the delightful Albarino Tapas Bar in town. After a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed we were up to capture sunrise before returning for a perfect Breakfast, which had a great choice of locally sourced ingredients. Chatting with Robert we also discovered their unique collection of Harry Potter original artwork, which to me as a designer was a bonus they really have some unique pieces. All in all we can't recommend this delightful hotel highly enough, whether for a weekend getaway or a holiday, a great little gem which we will be heading back to later this year.

A great place for a quiet weekend away

This is a little gem of a hotel. It has been recently refurbished to a very high standard with some interesting decorative features. Booking at such short notice did not give us much of a choice of room, and our room, at the top of the building, was quite small and only had an oblique view of the sea, but it was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. After a tedious battle with the gods of the M25 we ate in the restaurant on our first night and I can heartily recommend the chowder, the roast chicken and the lemon posset. It was my best meal of the weekend. My wife and I did a couple of hearty walks; to Ramsgate and back, and to Margate along the Turner and Dickens trail and back along the coastal path. We got to see every aspect of the Isle of Thanet and its amazing cultural diversity (Pugin, Dickens, Dreamland, arcades and theTurner Gallery, which can be recommended for a great flat white coffee but not its 'art'!) And of course there is the sea. The hotel proprietors, staff and Ben the dog were all very friendly and keen to make our stay pleasurable. I would recommend this hotel to any couple looking for a quiet weekend away, but next time we will try to get a room with a sea view.

Stunning interior and a stone's throw from the beach.

This is the first time I've been back to the Bay Tree since their refurb. I was blown away by how stunning it looked and how luxurious my bedroom was, with the windows artfully designed to give me a peep of the sea even though the room looked out onto the side of the building. The Harry Potter artwork on the walls was fab - tasteful and not too intrusive but a real treat for fans of the films. The service was friendly and my cooked breakfast each morning was prompt, beautifully served and piping hot. They do lovely cakes and cream teas as well, available throughout the day, and the mango cheesecake is out of this world. I love the fact that it's only 5 minutes from the town centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel really peaceful. The beach-across-the-road always feels quiet and remote, and on a windy day a bit wild too. The only thing I would change is to have fresh milk in the room rather than those little UHT pots, but they brought me a jug of fresh milk on request so I can't complain really. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this place as a getaway venue. It's a hidden jewel on the southeast coast and great value for money.

Fabulous meal in a unique setting

Had a superb meal at the Bay Tree Hotel last night . A colleague was staying there and by all accounts the rooms have also been upgraded to a very high standard. I would recommend the Sea Bass - cooked to perfection. It’s a rare treat to find a boutique Hotel of such a high standard in East Kent.

We stayed at the Hotel overnight. The owners were outstanding offering exceptional good customer service

My wife and I would like to put on record our sincere appreciation for the wonderful overnight stay we had last evening in Room 1. The customer service was excellent, the room was spotless and well presented with a range of hot drinks, towels and various toiletries. The breakfast far exceeded our expectations with a wide range of cereals, fresh fruit, toast and various condiments, as well as an excellent range of hot food which was presented well, and most importantly, hot. Above all, the price suited our budget, especially as it wasn’t initially a planned visit to Broadstairs.

Lovely stay!!

Me and my wife stayed here for three nights and loved the experience. The owners Robert and Alistair were very pleasant and attended to our every need. We stayed in the Walnut room and the facilities are first class. The bathroom has a lovely big bath and wet room shower which we loved. The breakfast is cooked to order and is very tasty. What impressed me most other then the location and cleanliness is the consideration of the owners. We were due to stay in Whitstable, however due to an emergency we had to rebook to this establishment which turned out to be a godsend. Not only were we given a fair price but we were allowed to check in six hours earlier at no additional cost which I felt was a very classy thing to do. The place is first class and we hope to be back in due course!

A very nice hotel with character and good views across the channel

A wonderfully different approach to most Hotels I've stayed in over the years. The owners Robert and Alistair and not forgetting Ben are welcoming and approachable making sure that whatever need you have is met. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a wonderful well decorated room with en suite shower room which was modern and bright including a rainshower. The Bay Tree interior design has been well thought out and the large Victorian rooms still retain a lot of original features which adds to the elegance of this lovely hotel. Breakfast was inclusive of the price and there is plenty of choice including locally sourced ingredients. I would also recommended a table for dinner as the food was divine and well presented. We will be back in the near future and thank Alistair and Robert for their hospitality.

Peace, tranquility and service

Never been to Kent before and picked the Bay Tree Hotel quite by chance. What a find. Only 10 rooms (one suitable for the less able, and I believe one has a balcony) Very quiet and peaceful and nicely heated for chilly days. The hotel has been beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished with loving care. Close to the town centre yet overlooks the sea and bay. Outside the front of hotel is a lovely terrace where you can enjoy the view. My room was a twin with both a walk-in shower and a bath. Usual hairdryer tv and tea-making tray but also had hot chocolate (usually hotels only offer tea and coffee). The hotel offers a licensed bar in a lovely lounge come library and another comfortable lounge with sea views. The restaurant also looks out to sea. The wonderful food is locally sourced and breakfast is cooked to order. The two owners were very hands on and couldn't be more helpful. Also an added bonus, the hotel has its own large car park. If I return to Broadstairs I will difinitely book the Bay Tree.

The hotel is in a prime location, only a 5 minute walk to the pretty sandy bay, shops, restaurants and bars. It has been beautifully refurbished, and our room had a partial sea view and a lovely wet room. The hosts are very welcoming and look after their guests as if they are part of the family. The breakfast is excellent ! Broadstairs has everything you could want or need for either a short or long stay, including a tiny 100 year old cinema! It is perfectly positioned to visit both Ramsgate and Margate, one is 5 miles to the North and the other 5 miles to the South.

Fantastic place and views

Stayed there for one night without the kids. You could tell straight away it has been refurbished but has managed to retain it's character. Our room had the balcony and sea view. Amazing to wake up to that view and I'm sure the blue skies helped! Wet room was very spacious and felt luxurious. Breakfast was made to order and good quality. Parked easily oit the front on the road and it was a very short walk to the many restaurant's in Broadstairs. Will have to return in the future if we get the chance.

"Worth Every Penny"

Made to feel Welcome from the very start. Friendly hosts and newly refurbished building designed with taste and detail.

We had the balcony room and it's exactly as I hoped for. Roll Top Bath, Wet Room style shower, TV with online features, Phone with time displayed. The fixtures and fittings are well above the norm. Plenty of good use of older furniture well matched to the clean style of the rooms.

Breakfast was a treat I felt that all items on the plate were better than standard and I live in hotels of all types for work so I've eaten a few hotel breakfasts.

There seems to be the last 5% of the renovations to be completed but I would still not hesitate to stay here again tomorrow.

I am putting on an event in July and they will be receiving a call from me to book the whole place for guests of my event. I have complete confidence. Fantastic stay.

"Comfortable and inviting hotel run by friendly owners. Off street parking very convenient as parking out the front would have been difficult. Perfectly located right on the sea front providing wonderful views of the coast. Located within a 10 minute walk of the town where a variety of eating and drinking establishments can be found. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the en suite to our room (No.9) was very small and suited us fine but would have been a bit awkward for a larger person. Breakfast was very good and the food locally sourced which is nice to see. Overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area...."

We stayed for two nights using the Group on voucher and like another reviewer we had room 9.The room was fine with everything you needed like a kettle, toiletries and a very comfy bed etc. The bathroom could do with a smaller sink as using the loo was a tight squeeze. I was told that there will be upgrading to the hotel so hopefully this will be sorted out in the future. The view from the room was excellent looking over the cliffs and sea. Anniversary Stay

"We really enjoyed our stay; very reasonably priced via groupon. The breakfast was very good, the staff were delightful especially the owners; nothing was too much of a problem. It is a little dated, but they are planning to refurbish as recently taken over as new owners and are new to the business. Which shows slightly with small things like breakfast taking a while (45 mins on one morning) but that didn't bother us as they were so nice and the food was very good."

Otherwise the room we stayed in (5) was large and had a sea view, which was nice, but the bathroom was small and only a shower, which is going to be updated according to the owners. The attention to detail was impressive like a fan, tasty biscuits, Tiptree jams and spreads with breakfast and lots of nice shower gel and even a shoe mitt."

Within our groupon we had a free bottle of prosecco, which was very good! It was even brought to our room in a bucket of ice when we wanted it which was great."

Overall, we would stay here again and are very interested to stay next year when the refurb's done and they have had some time to adapt to their new role as hotel owners and managers."

We very much looking forward to our next visit which should be even more special after the scheduled refurbishments."

"Amazing"

"Thank you for a wonderful stay in Bay Tree Broadstairs! The house and the room were cosy, the view was amazing, the food was good and the hosts friendly."

The area is full of nice walks, the beaches are beautiful and we had a feeling of having been away for ages, even by just staying for one day, a short train trip away from London. Absolutely to recommend!"

"Lovely location and hotel"

"I stayed at the bay tree for one night in June for my partner's birthday. The hotel was a short distance from the train station which was really convenient. The hotel has a lovely location, with it being a few minutes from the centre of broad stairs so is much more of a quieter area which is nice when going away for peace and relaxation."

The views from the hotel are amazing.... The room was large and the space was used well.... The staff were lovely and even allowed us to check in early. The breakfast was very nice, with great quick service and good variety. Would definitely recommend, and would love to stay there again."

"Wonderful service and fantastic view"

"I was travelling on business with a colleague in early June just for one night. It ticked all the boxes for us. It had a car park, the hotel overlooks the sea and it was walking distance from the town. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good shower."

The hosts were very friendly and the cooked breakfast in the dining room that looked over the sea was delicious. We are looking forward to returning again soon"

"Great location. Rooms need modernising"

"We recently stayed here with our two young children during a visit to Broadstairs ... there was ample parking either on the street or in the hotel car park and the hotel is situated about 10 minutes' walk from the town centre or 5 minutes to the beach ... our room was large enough for a double bed, cot and folding bed but it was a snug fit"

Breakfast was a real treat and a big thumbs up to the chef! Overall the hotel ticks all the boxes and is a great place to stay in terms of location and the owners were very warm and welcoming..."

"Amazing Service"

"My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights, and had a wonderful time. The room was large, clean, airy and beautiful, and the view was amazing. The service was spectacular, with the two gentlemen going out of their way to accommodate our late arrival and early departure. Breakfast was varied and delicious.

We would most certainly recommend a stay."
