Delicious food

We ate here twice during our three night stay and were not disappointed by our choices. The nut loaf was out of this world!

  • Amazing food and service

Booked a table for 4 + 1 (highchair provided and set up before arrival). We had 2 whitebait and bread to share. I only really wanted the bread, id tried whitebait in the past but really didn't like it but thought id have a little try knowing that the other people in the party would definitely eat it. The whitebait is unbelievably delicious, i probably ate more of it than anyone else (much to my partners disappointment) the bread is delicious too. I had the sirloin and i can honestly say I've never eaten anything more delicious than that! Out of this world. The chef (Vlod) is an amazing chef, so knowledgeable and seriously talented. Will definitely be going back.

  • A thoroughly enchanting afternoon tea.

As old codgers when a whocher offer came up we decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea. We were wowed with the beauty of the hotel and the dining room was sparkly and smart.

The lovely Ukrainian chef was charm itself. It turned out his cooking was every bit as good as his conversation. A young man brought us tea and a mountain of sandwiches. He was also charming and attentive without being in your face. The sandwiches were delicious. We were the only people there but we chatted a lot with the two staff and felt thoroughly relaxed and at our ease. When the freshly made scones came out with cream and jam - well- They were the lightest and tastiest scones ever. The cakes were absolutely delicious too and it was all topped off to perfection with Prosecco and more tea.The whole experience was fun, relaxing and magical. Eat your heart out Sands.

Don't miss out on this thoroughly amazing experience just because you're local. Treat yourself. You won't regret it.

  • First Visit to this restaurant which is part of a superbly decorated hotel.

Having read previous reviews we decided to give it a try. Turns out the chef is amazingly talented. We both went for fish starters and mains. The menu is varied with meat, fish and vegeterian dishes but the fish dishes sounded particularly nice. We were not disappointed. Our starters were scallops and whitebait. Both superb but the whitebait was in another league. Our main courses were hake with samphire and new potatoes. Don't think either of us had ever eaten fish cooked so beautifully. Without hesitation we will be returning and hopefully taking family and friends too. Also, last but not least, thank you so much to our waiter who made us very welcome and the service was perfect. Thank Bay Tree for a super evening.

  • Breakfast at The Bay Tree

My husband and I decided to have breakfast here after staying the night at this wonderful hotel by Stone Bay. We chose to sit near the window for the splendid sea view. We were pleased with the tasteful decor of the restaurant. We are both vegetarians and were well catered for. The polite waiter took our order and said we could help ourselves to cereals/juice etc. My husband chose cereals and I chose a fresh fruit salad with natural yoghurt. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We had chosen vegetarian sausages with mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and hash browns, The hash browns were the best I had ever tasted! All this was washed down with nice cups of herbal tea chosen from an extensive range on offer. We hope to come back soon!

  • Best roast potatoes ever

I have no idea what it's like to stay at the Bay Tree, however, I can tell you that there's a new chef in the restaurant who really knows what he's doing. Sunday Lunch included the crispiest roast potatoes, tender roast beef, melt in the mouth hispi cabbage and wonderful Yorkshire pudding. The cherry and basil soufflé was impossibly light with a crisp outside and a rich, deep taste. This is real cooking, made from scratch, freshly prepared with true passion.

We stayed in this hotel and ate in the dining room on the first night of out stay in Broadstairs. The dining room is tastefully decorated and has great sea views (when its not foggy!) The menu has a good variety of dishes and I chose the chowder, roast chicken and lemon posset. All absolutely delicious!

  • "Had a superb meal at the Bay Tree Hotel last night . A colleague was staying there and by all accounts the rooms have also been upgraded to a very high standard. I would recommend the Sea Bass - cooked to perfection. It's a rare treat to find a boutique Hotel of such a high standard in East Kent."
