    Shell Grotto Margate

      Perfect for a sheltered day out during April showers… The Shell Grotto Margate 4.6 million shells 70 feet of winding underground passages leading to… a rectangular chamber, 2000 feet of mosaic and one big mystery! The story goes that in 1835 Mr James Newlove lowered his young son Joshua into a hole in the ground that had appeared during the digging of a duck pond.     Ramsgate Harbour Lights

    Owners have decorated over 40 boats and lit up the UK’s only Royal Harbour in the festive spirit. A dazzling display can be seen with vessels covered in rows of Christmas lights attached to their masts and flashing ornaments on deck for visitors to enjoy. This year, the public also have the chance to vote for their favourite boat at many of the local businesses surrounding the harbour and beyond. All proceeds will go to Ramsgate RNLI.     Dickensian Christmas 2015
