Bay Tree Broadstairs Refurbishment Week 57

The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in December 2017.

We’ve delayed re-opening owing to slower than anticipated progress with our refurbishment.

We’re now managing the remainder of our build (primarily decoration, second-fixes and snagging plus landscaping) ourselves along with a new site manager instead of through our original building contractors.

We would like to thank all of our guests for their patience – we will be open as soon as we can and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait!

The Bay Tree itself is also looking good in the autumn sunshine!

We’ve been levelling our sea-view patio and are ready to start placing our new patio slabs down. The design we’ve chosen will have two circles of slabs. We will of course be adding a lot of pots of colour.

Some of the exterior wiring for illuminating the patio can be seen in the top left of this picture. We also have the wiring in place ready for our external signage at the end of our drive.

This is how our patio is shaping up. We can’t wait to be abler to serve prosecco and cream teas next year!

The signage above our main entrance has now been added. The glazing in our porch is also being fitted.

Our rear patio and car park has now been levelled. However we  will delay laying both a new patio and car park until we have had a chance to finish other parts of the refurbishment.

Going into The Bay Tree, on the left is our library and bar where our oak shelves are currently being fitted.

We have started to apply paint on our halls and landings.

Even through the paint pots our balcony sea-views are amazing!

Our butlers sink has been added to our utility room.

Stone Bay, directly opposite The Bay Tree, is looking great in the autumn sun!
