The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in December 2017.
We’ve delayed re-opening owing to slower than anticipated progress with our refurbishment.
We’re now managing the remainder of our build (primarily decoration, second-fixes and snagging plus landscaping) ourselves along with a new site manager instead of through our original building contractors.
We would like to thank all of our guests for their patience – we will be open as soon as we can and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait!
We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email firstname.lastname@example.org for enquiries and future bookings.
Almost all of our scaffolding has now been removed.
Work on building our new brick boundary wall is progressing.
Our view over Stone Bay is beautiful.
The glass for our new entrance has now arrived.
We have started applying the first coats of colour to our hall and rear passage.
Our doorways have been getting their special intumescent fire protection paint applied.
Our carpenters have been working hard on creating oak thresholds for our doorways and the oak trimmings to go on our staircases (the pieces with the square inserts are where our spindles, some of which we have copied directly from our originals, will go).
This is an example of one of our oak thresholds (the small holes will eventually be completely hidden).
In Room 10, Maple, in one of the top front corners of The Bay Tree, we have been able to get right into the eaves and gain some valuable space for guests to use as a small built-in wardrobe.
We are always looking for unique pieces of furniture we can use in The Bay Tree, such as this beautiful chest of drawers.
We are particularly pleased with this desk chair, which will be used the receception area of our library bar located next to our entrance.
The lights on our rear balcony are now on.
The lights on Room 5, English Oak, our balcony sea view room are now on as well.
