The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in December 2017.
We’ve delayed re-opening owing to slower than anticipated progress with our refurbishment. We’re now managing the remainder of our build (primarily decoration, second-fixes and snagging plus landscaping) ourselves instead of through our original building contractors.
We would like to thank all of our guests for their patience – we will be open as soon as we can and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait!
We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email firstname.lastname@example.org for enquiries and future bookings.
Outside, our front patio will look stunning once we’ve relaid it and planted some new foliage.
Our driveway has been cleared and lowered (it was encroaching on our damp course) and we have realigned our boundary with our neighbours where we had lost a little land – this will mean our driveway will be slightly wider (our previous guests will recall there was a narrow pinch-point!) We will, of course, be re-building our boundary wall.
Work on our wall around the permiter of our car park is progressing nicely – these walls needed rebuilding, especially as we have lowered the car park to ensure it is level. The car park and drive will get new tarmac.
The framework for our main entrance has now been built. The main entrance and porch will get new glass. Of course, we have some work to do rebuilding our step into The Bay Tree.
The front of The Bay Tree is taking shape: we’ve new steps up to our sea-view terrace, new French windows into our sea-view restaurant, new traditional sash windows. oriel windows to allow for glimpses of the sea, a panoramic window (at the top, on the side of our building) which has spectacular views over Stone Bay and the chalk cliffs plus an additional triple-aspect sea-view turret. Once we’ve completed the guttering, the scaffolding will be removed.
The views from our sea-view balcony are amazing!
We’re making sure that the luxury en suite bathroom for our balcony sea-view room will be of superb quality!
The views from our triple-aspect sea-view turrets are pretty cool too!
We love using bright colours to liven some of our rooms
Downstairs, our bay tree can be viewed from our ground floor accessible and dog-friendly room, which will also benefit from its own private terrace.
Our ground floor accessible room features some clever pieces of design, such as this basin with discreet grab handles for guests with limited mobility (we will also add some discreet, foldable, rails to this area as well.
We’re always on the look-out for unique pieces such as as this tiered plate stand for serving afternoon teas.
