We’ve started applying some colour in our sea view lounge. We think this blue compliments our outlook over Stone Bay!
Our new marble fireplace looks great against this blue.
A slightly darker blue has been used in our sea-view restaurant. We will be adding wallpaper but this will be one of the last parts of the refurbishment to minimise damage.

On the stairs, we have just finished plastering the wall against the stairs from the hall to the top floor. This picture shows where new beams to reinforce our first floor landing have been boxed in under the bottom of the stairs from the first to the second floor. We will put a small cupboard for housekeeping supplies in this space.
Outside, we have been busy excavating our car park (we have 10 spaces) and are getting ready to level and re-surface it.
We have so far moved 60 tonnes of soil!
We will also be lowering the drive – over the years it has got too high and has gone above a damp course.
The scaffolding around the side and rear of The Bay Tree has now been removed. The front scaffolding will come down shortly. Our work on replacing our front wall and the wall on the right hand side of our drive from the road is progressing nicely – we will have a red brick wall with flint, in keeping with the local area.
Apart from adding some glazing to the rear first floor balcony (the left hand room is the owners office, the right and room is the owners lounge) and glazing the windows on the ground floor (on the right is Room 1, Willow and in the centre is the rear entrance to The Bay Tree).
Stone Bay, in front of The Bay Tree, is looking as stunning as ever!
We’re still sourcing unique pieces of furniture, such as this walnut cabinet, for our guest rooms.
We’ll use this oak bookcase in the owners accommodation.
We’re particularly fond of this art-deco light.
