The Ramsgate Rev Up, Sunday 14th August
Royal Harbour Approach, Ramsgate
The 2015 Sprint Revival Course
A rare opportunity to see Barry Sheene’s legendary race bikes from 1976-77 which still hold the record for the fastest gp ever
In 2015 The Ramsgate Sprint Revival proved an amazing draw with more than 50 classic bike entries from 1930’s JAPs, through Vincents and Ariels to 1970’s Japanese bikes. With a load of other attractions, trade and retail stands, and great weather more than 10,000 folk passed through over the weekend. If you haven’t seen it there is a video
Sadly this year the Sprint has been postponed as a predicted increase in commercial activity within the port area prevented the fun from going ahead – but it will be back in 2017. However, keeping the momentum up, we now have the Ramsgate Rev-Up.
The Rev-Up will focus on a combination of race and classic bikes – there will be some iconic 70’s and 80’s machines on display covering 500cc/Moto GP, World Superbike and BSB series. We’ve got two of Barry Sheene’s original 500GP racers, a Carl Fogarty Petronas, one of Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha TZs and many other internationally important racing machinery on view. Many of the racers will be started up during the day so visitors can hear what the classics sounded like!
