The Isle of Thanet
The Isle of Thanet is the easternmost part of Kent and has a rich history with the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Saint Augustine all having landed here. Many famous authors, architects and artists have found their inspiration in the area.
White chalk cliffs, offering superb cliff top walks, envelop seven sandy beach bays, which make up the beautiful and unspoilt seaside resort of Broadstairs. To the north is Margate, home of donkey rides, deckchairs and the newly re-opened Dreamland. To the south is the elegant Regency resort of Ramsgate with the famous Royal Marina.
