ATTRACTIONS

The Isle of Thanet is the easternmost part of Kent and has a rich history with the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Saint Augustine all having landed here. Many famous authors, architects and artists have found their inspiration in the area.

White chalk cliffs, offering superb cliff top walks, envelop seven sandy beach bays, which make up the beautiful and unspoilt seaside resort of Broadstairs. To the north is Margate, home of donkey rides, deckchairs and the newly re-opened Dreamland. To the south is the elegant Regency resort of Ramsgate with the famous Royal Marina.

The hotel has recently been renovated by its current owners and they have done it superbly. Attention to detail is second to none. It just oozes class. The position is great for both the beach and town . The breakfast was great. The owners were so friendly and made us so welcome. Can't wait to return."

  • A last minute getaway which will hold special memories forever. Broadstairs is a great seaside spot and the Bay Tree a perfect location. Comfortable and welcoming, we couldn't have asked for more! A fantastic little bar with local tipples helped us celebrate in the comfort of the hotel. Tastefully decorated throughout and a lovely comfortable room. Fluffy towels and yummy food, we were able to enjoy ourselves as well as entertain the little one on the beach literally a stones throw away. We got lucky with the weather too, so a short stroll to Viking Bay and Ramsgate was a real treat. When we come back to Broadstairs we will definitely be sure to stay at the Bay Tree. Hopefully James will be coming back too in years to come x

  • This hotel is just perfect, all the rooms are beautifully decorated since the refurbishment, we tried the dinner menu and the food was delicious. We also tried the afternoon tea, great value for money. Alistair and Robert are excellent hosts, very welcoming and Ben is a sweetie! We are looking forward to returning in July. Well done chaps!

  • "The Bay Tree Hotel is perched on top of the cliffs overlooking the English Channel. On a sunny day, the view from the front reception room and terrace is wonderful. Ideally located, the hotel is within a 5 minute walk of Broadstairs town centre and sea front but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be a completely relaxing retreat ... Tea and coffee making facilities with complementary biscuits are provided. A full English breakfast was included in the price and set us up nicely for a day on the beach. Harry Potter fans should check out the amazing framed original prints in the downstairs hallway and office."

  • "Had a superb meal at the Bay Tree Hotel last night . A colleague was staying there and by all accounts the rooms have also been upgraded to a very high standard. I would recommend the Sea Bass - cooked to perfection. It's a rare treat to find a boutique Hotel of such a high standard in East Kent."
