Bay Tree Broadstairs Refurbishment Week 55

The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in December 2017.

We’ve delayed re-opening owing to slower than anticipated progress with our refurbishment.

We’re now managing the remainder of our build (primarily decoration, second-fixes and snagging plus landscaping) ourselves along with a new site manager instead of through our original building contractors.

We would like to thank all of our guests for their patience – we will be open as soon as we can and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait!

We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email for enquiries and future bookings.

Ben has been monitoring the progress of our refurbsihment.

At the rear of The Bay Tree we have been busy building walls in our garden.

The walls on our driveway leading on to the Eastern Esplanade are almost complete.

These steps, which will be completed with bricks, will lead from our car park and patio underneath our bay tree to our rear entrance.

At the top of the hotel we are almost ready to put complete the top of our staircase.

Our decorators have been working hard on our decor and many rooms are now getting their final touches, with woodwork being finished and snagging issues being addressed.

This is the view from our triple-aspect sea-view ‘turret’ in Room 9, Yew.

Our library has had it’s first coat of paint and is now being snagged – the white patches are where there are little details that need going over before the next coat. The wall behind the light will have our walk-up bar.

We’re still collecting small furniture items such as this bedside table and old televsion cabinet which will also get used as a bedside table.

Ben and Alistair are still finding time to relax, here on a walk in the beautiful Stour Valley.

Thank you for the latest blog. It is lovely to see the nearly-built walls and steps at the rear and the side of the Bay Tree. I am glad that such care is being taken over the outside areas as first impressions are so important.
