Bay Tree Broadstairs Refurbishment Week 33

The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in August 2017

We regret having to announce to our guests, friends and colleagues that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to delay our opening until August

Last week we experienced heavy rain: parts of our roof are not yet fully sealed (owing to window extensions, roof windows, oriel windows and new roof tiling) and  we suffered some water penetration. We are working to rectify and replace where damage has been incurred but this will unfortunately affect our timescales.

We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email for enquiries and future bookings

In some areas, we are beginning to apply first coats of paint. Room 8 Alder, has bright colours to bring in the warmth of the surrounding seaside environment. It also benefits from having an original fireplace which we’ve restored

Some of our ensuite wet-rooms are also nearing completion. Room 9, Yew’s blues reflect the colours of the English Channel and North Sea (we’re on the cusp of where they both meet)

The creams of the chalk cliffs to our left and the sand in beautiful Stone Bay are reflected in Room 10, Maple, with it’s picture window (not shown here) looking to the cliffs and the triple-aspect sea-view ‘turret’, from which guests can enjoy a drink whilst admiring our sea view

We have been preparing all of our stair cases, especially on our upper floors, where we have commissioned new carpentry as original fittings had previously been removed in order to put fire screens in place (we’ve now taken out the fire screens as we can use modern sprinklers instead)

Here we can see the detail of where we have been stripping back our floors

The luxury Laufen bath for our balcony sea-view room has now arrived and is awaiting installation
