Ben is keeping an eye on progress in our sea-view restaurant. The sun from the sea can be seen streaming in above what will be our new French windows leading on to our sea view terrace

We have nearly finished plastering our library and we are putting back cornices which are as close to the originals as we can get

Much of the plastering in our hall has now been done. We are expecting our balusters and newel posts for all of our stairs next weeek (we had to make copies of the balusters on our 1st and 2nd floors as they had been removed to make way for the fire screens, which thanks to a new sprinkler system, we no longer need)

We’re almost ready to plaster our sea-view lounge
We’re expecting our glass for all areas to be arriving very shortly

A lot of our cornices and ceiling roses are now going into our bedrooms, such as here in Room5, English Oak, our balcony sea view room

We’ve started to lay out the tiles in our wetrooms (these wood effect tiles are ceramic: they will look great but also have an R11 tile resistance rating, which means are guests won’t slip on them!)

We’re still buying items of furniture, such as these chairs at a local auction, which we will re-upholster and place in our lounge

We’re going to breath some new life into these chairs (this is one of a pair) which we’re getting from our bookkeeper,  Sarah (thanks Sarah!)

Yes, this is Kent – Port Lympne Wildlife Park, just under an hour from The Bay Tree, where we attended a tourism conference and they kindly threw in a safari around their 600 acre park – a really great activity idea for our guests!

These giraffes are as keen to keep warm and not venture into colder weather as we are!

However, the sea on Stone Bay, directly opposite The Bay Tree, has been great this week! Watch to the end of the video to see a certain Bedlington (i.e. Ben!) thoroughly enjoying himself!
