The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in December 2017.
We’ve delayed re-opening owing to slower than anticipated progress with our refurbishment.
We’re now managing the remainder of our build (primarily decoration, second-fixes and snagging plus landscaping) ourselves along with a new site manager instead of through our original building contractors.
We would like to thank all of our guests for their patience – we will be open as soon as we can and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait!
We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email email@example.com for enquiries and future bookings.
Our views of Stone Bay are as amazing as ever!
We’ve been adding a considerable amount of brickwork to our exterior. These are steps leading to our sea-view patio and French windows into our sea-view restaurant.
Here, bricks are laid out ready for laying next week on our driveway.
At the rear of the hotel we have started work on creating the new brick steps which will lead from our car park and rear garden with our bay tree (the shadow of which can be seen in the top part of this picture).
In this picture excavations can be seen for waste, pipes and power cables next to our neighbour’s wall: There will be some service steps here and next to the fence will be a small housing for our waste bins, additional power supplies into the garden and a sink/ mini-wet-room with hot and cold running water and a shower attachment (the shower attachment is for washing down dogs – belonging to guests as well as Ben) that bring back sand from the beach!
We’re almost ready to finally sign off some of our rooms, with our decorators having worked extremely hard to achieve the final finishes and quality that we want to show.
Our public toilets are nearly finished and we’ve now installed the additional lighting and the hand-dryer.
We’ve started bringing back on site some of our chandeliers ready to be tested then wrapped up and protected again whilst we complete our refurbishment.
This is the chandelier that will be hung in our sea-view lounge.
This is James, one of our lead carpenters, showing how the edges of our staircases will look – we can’t wait to see these finished, especially once they’ve been varnished and had French polishing.
This beautiful art-deco cabinet will live in our hall and display our range of Bay Tree toiletries, candles, reed-diffusers etc. that will feature a unique scent created especially for The Bay Tree.
We have just had some more chairs for our sea-view dining room come back from our upholsterers.
