Bay Tree Broadstairs Refurbishment Week 43

The Bay Tree Broadstairs is currently closed for a major refurbishment and will re-open in October 2017.

We are still reachable by phone 01843 862502 & email enquiries@baytreebroadstairs.co.uk for enquiries and future bookings.

In front of  The Bay Tree we are rebuilding the wall from our sea-view patio.

We are using traditional flint in our wall.

Ben is keeping a close eye, from our restaurant where our French patio doors will be added,  on how our work is progressing.

DW Design Flooring have been installing a Karndean natural wood effect flooring in Room 1, Willow.

We have been using the same flooring running through the back passage to the new rear entrance into The Bay Tree.

The same flooring is also being used in our ground-floor toilets.

We have been making sure that our stairs from our hall up to our first floor, have been strengthened. This picture shows the underside of these stairs looking down to our basement.

A lot of the structural work we had to do on our staircases, such as from our first floor to our second floor, is now ready for finishing trims and banisters.

These are the trims that we will be using on our staircases.

We have been choosing finishes for our banisters and trims. Its worth noting that some of the colours shown in this picture aren’t completely accurate as the woods will be stained several times.

Multi-coloured led lights in the roof of this apex window in our owners bedroom help illuminate the space.

We are still buying new items of furniture, such as this small bureau, for the hotel.

This is part of a light fitting we have just bought for the hotel.

  1. We have a Karndean floor in our ‘house bathroom’ and I love it. Would like it in our kitchen and en suite eventually.
